KITCHENS THAT COOK!!!

Hope your week is progressing fabulously well. If its been anything like mine it has been FAST and F-U-R-I-O-U-S for sure!!!! I already have my mind set for Friday to include an extended holiday weekend courtesy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!!!

My plans will consist of adding photos to my home tour page and sharing several more inspirational posts.  As mentioned previously HERE, our family go to space for all gatherings (large and small) center around the kitchen.

Kitchens that COOK not only offer plenty of elbow room for large meals, but packs amazing design elements....its all about the balance of function and all things appeasing to the eye. I tend to be drawn to modern cabinetry that offer a two tone color scheme.  Hard wood floors add warmth and I love the dazzle of stainless appliances.

Isn't the below space perfect?

I also love the clean lines of the room below?  How about them chandeliers?  I see you!!!

GREY INTERIORS

Good day everybody and happy Sunday to you all!!  Hope your weekend was all you could hope for and then some.
Bright Living Room With Yellow Curtains

We started the weekend off with the most perfect weather day here in Atlanta.  Let me set the stage for you...70 degree weather, blue skies, sunshine, and breezy......wouldn't, couldn't complain because the weather was in deed P-E-R-F-E-C-T.  I guess all good things must come to an end because the freshness of yesterday's past has been completely transformed into skies of grey of today.  Determined not to let the change of the weather dampened the mood, I found sunshine in the above photo.

Although, I have no design elements within my home that the represents the color yellow,  I was inspired by the photo above which ultimately led me to the collection below.

The photo represents a well balanced room.  The yellow wallpaper and curtains create the perfect backdrop.  The grey sofa and abstract rug anchors the space, while the oversized photography ties to the two worlds together and prevent the walls from looking too busy.  I love it!

 Bright And Playful Living Room

Opposite from the above picture, the photo below creates a warm grey setting with a punch of yellow in the window dressings and the dining room chairs.  (The chandelier is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G).

DESIGN CRUSH: BLACK INTERIOR DOORS!!!!

Greetings and happy, happy Tuesday to all of you.  I hope your week is progressing to be positively amazing!!!!!

Over the last several months the color "black" has graced many interiors in a bold and chic way. I started collecting photos of black interiors on Pinterest several months ago (to see my full compilation click HERE).

Inspired by the above photo I decided to search for additional interiors in which the chosen color was black.  Stimulated by the color depth added to various spaces i.e. living rooms, bedrooms, front doors, closets, bathrooms, and etc., I was mostly impressed by the level of elegance added to the spaces.

I love the how the black interior door graces the neutral color palette below.

DINING....BANQUETTE STYLE!!!

Happy Friday's Eve!!!!!

I love the eve of Friday...one more day until weekend begins and boy let me tell you... I am ready for the weekend!!!  In the mean time I will continue to day dream about a million design spaces to include banquette seating.  Right now I have banquette dining on the brain and can't get E-N-O-U-G-H.  You see I love me some banquettes, built-in, freestanding sofa, bench, or settee, I don't care the form or fashion, but having one is a MUST.

This style of dining sets the tone for an intimate, conversational opportunity that requires the attendees to stay a while, to the point of over staying their welcome :-).  You see, it never fails in my household that when visitors come over we always find ourselves in the kitchen and around the table...drinking, eating, laughing, talking, and drinking (did I say drinking already?)

I can easily imagine family and friends gathered around the banquette for celebratory dinners, myself curled up with my favorite design magazine  and a glass of vino, weekly family and holiday meals, brunch with the girls, and everything else in between.

My current home doesn't allow for a banquette anywhere so until then I will continue to dream up my ideal setting in my mental design Rolodex.

I hope you enjoy the collection below of some of my favorite images.  Each photo offers unique design elements that appeal to various design preferences and styles.

Until the next time...be inspired.
Melanie
