Warm Kitchens + Cozy Living Rooms = Soulful Sundays

I hope each of you are having a splendid Sunday and your overall weekend was OUTSTANDING!

Sundays are one of my favorite days of the week.  You see in our home, Sundays are spent leisurely,  relaxing the day away with slight preparation/organization for the upcoming work/school week. We generally consume LARGE home cooked meals with multi courses that can last for a few days. I enjoy this time I am able to share with my loved ones...its like food for the soul; better yet, soul food... without the calories.

Since Sundays = Large meals in the KITCHEN + lounging in the LIVING ROOM, I decided to share some photos of my favorite kitchen and living rooms that not only inspire me but are soulful in design.

I love the overall color scheme of the first photo.  Mixing cabinetry finishes is a great way to modernize and add character to a space.

A large island is a must....especially if its a piece of furniture!!!!  I love how the white modern cabinets marry with the traditional cherry furniture.  The below look is timeless.

The black cabinetry is exquisite in the below photo; also did you see the banquette to the far right of the picture?  PERFECTION at its best.
Suzie: Cote de Texas - Gorgeous white & black dream kitchen design with glossy black built-in ...

Another great design element in a well appointed kitchen is subway tiles.  LOVE THEM!!!
Look Linger Love

The perfect living space/family room represents those who live there.  The below photos capture the true spirit of the homeowners.

Living Room Eclectic - Artwork hung above a purple couch

Living Room Eclectic - A tan sectional in an open family room

Living Room Eclectic - White furniture surrounding a zebra-print ottoman

Living Room Eclectic - White furniture and curtains in a neutral living room

Living Room Eclectic - A floral couch, a pair of white wingback chairs, and a tiger-print occasional chair in a blue living room

Living Room Eclectic - A living space with white furniture and a glass-topped coffee table on a zebra-hide rug

Living Room Traditional - A gray roll-arm sofa paired with a glass-topped coffee table

So how do you spend your Sunday evenings?  What elements make for a perfect kitchen?? What about a living room?

Until next time...be soulfully inspired.

  1. I just love how the veins of the marble island top is captured in the kitchen cabinet color in the first photo.
