PIANO ROOMS

ROOMS THAT SING!!!

Happy Monday evening to you all.

I know its been while, but hopefully this post is well worth the wait.  My husband and I often talk about purchasing a piano for our home and how we would incorporate it into our current home design.  The conversation is generally centered around....do we replace our rarely used formal dining table/chairs with a lovely piano and cozy seating? Or perhaps we should carve out a swanky piano space with banquette seating in our basement?

Although we have yet to purchase a piano, I decided to browse the world wide web for a little inspiration. Since we have not determined the perfect space to house the piano, I was very pleased to discover (and now share with all of you special peeps) design worthy spaces that have been styled in a functional and fabulous way!!!

The diversity of the photo collection is across the board....formal, informal, white, black, wood, shiny, old, new, living rooms, dining rooms....the possibilities are truly endless.  I literally LOVE of each and every single photo.

Up first....I love the formal and modern look of the first, few photos!! The monochromatic color schemes are elegant and sophisticated.

GREEN INTERIORS

Good evening lovelies and gentleman (FRED)!!!

Hope your Monday was as positively inspiring as today's color crush.... GREEN.  I must admit I do not really care for the color green as a stand alone accent; however I am drawn to the pairing green and pink in a beautiful way...SHOUT OUT TO THE beautiful AKA sisters who fabulously represent these colors!!!

I was recently inspired by the lighting fixtures in the below picture.  The green chairs in contrast to the wall, table, and buffet offer multi layers that compliment each perfectly.  The modern blue painting was the "icing" on the cake signifying a well appointed room.

Like the textured white walls...graphic INK BLUE art, AQUA velvet chrs, and EMERALD GREEn glass...cool mix of lighting fixtures too!!

Since I was drawn to the aforementioned photo, I immediately became inquisitive the green potential and begin a search for green interiors, green walls, and velvet sofas.  As I progressed through the various options, I came across the INSPIRATION of the day...dark walls and green upholstered chairs...G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!! and fabulous floors to boot!!!
Essex & kelly green black and white floor

Then once I believed it couldn't /wouldn't get any better, I came across the room below....Stunning!!!!
gray and green color palette topped with a gold ceiling!

Bold and beautiful green curtains!!!! This space instantly makes me happy....to the point where I was  about to do the running man...GO MEL GO MEL...its your birthday!!!! Whenever I do the running man its about to get really serious in the building. :-)

FIDDLE LEAF FIG TREES

Where does the weekend go???  Can't believe Monday is already here.  I have decided that the next person, who runs for President on the sole platform of making Monday the 3rd day of the weekend, will definitely get my vote.

My weekend was busy but productive.  Hope yours was absolutely wonderful!   The weather in Atlanta was actually pleasant, but let me tell I do miss the warmer months in the south i.e. green grass, trees, flowers, birds, and etc.  For me green represents life... in a vibrant way.  Speaking of vibrancy one of my favorite indoor house plants are fiddle leaf figs... bet you can't say that FIVE  TIMES FAST!!!???  I am looking to incorporating some indoor house plants them into my home décor so that I am able to bask in green glory all year long right through the colder months.  An updated version of the ficus plant, the below fig trees are inspiration for living strong and healthy everyday.

Although I am very grateful its FRIDAY I most certainly wish it was 5:45 PM vs. 5:45 AM!!! Super insomniac night (or morning I should say), so I decided to make use of this precious time by catching up on Facebook - GO FIGURE.  Not sure if this was a great idea or not, but check back with me oh say about 12 noon as I am sure I will be longing for my bed, any bed, especially the fabulous one below.

Any hoot... here is your Weekly Orange You Glad its Friday Post!!! Love the orange headboard and the white & orange striped curtains.  It is the perfect balance of modern and funky, but warm and cozy.

Hope your day is fabulous and FAST.

BAR CART BEAUTIES!!!

Happy Happy Hump Day to you all!!!

So glad we have made it half through the week. Today's post has been inspired by the longest and most stressful week ever. Times like these call for desperate measures in the form an adult beverage or two..you know just to take the edge off and muster up enough energy to make it through the end of the week.  I can't think of another perfect way to mix up the perfect cocktail or indulge in a bottle of vino than in the space below?  Whether its a cart, tray, cabinet, or table I love the endless possibilities of creating an adult beverage station in a way that is not only functional but stylish.

The below photos offer an endless array of options that you could easily pull together with current household items.

Love the eclectic styling of the first photo.

How fresh and clean is the below bar cart?  Even a simplistic design can make an impactful statement.

KITCHENS THAT COOK!!!

Hope your week is progressing fabulously well. If its been anything like mine it has been FAST and F-U-R-I-O-U-S for sure!!!! I already have my mind set for Friday to include an extended holiday weekend courtesy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!!!

My plans will consist of adding photos to my home tour page and sharing several more inspirational posts.  As mentioned previously HERE, our family go to space for all gatherings (large and small) center around the kitchen.

Kitchens that COOK not only offer plenty of elbow room for large meals, but packs amazing design elements....its all about the balance of function and all things appeasing to the eye. I tend to be drawn to modern cabinetry that offer a two tone color scheme.  Hard wood floors add warmth and I love the dazzle of stainless appliances.

Isn't the below space perfect?

I also love the clean lines of the room below?  How about them chandeliers?  I see you!!!

GREY INTERIORS

Good day everybody and happy Sunday to you all!!  Hope your weekend was all you could hope for and then some.
Bright Living Room With Yellow Curtains

We started the weekend off with the most perfect weather day here in Atlanta.  Let me set the stage for you...70 degree weather, blue skies, sunshine, and breezy......wouldn't, couldn't complain because the weather was in deed P-E-R-F-E-C-T.  I guess all good things must come to an end because the freshness of yesterday's past has been completely transformed into skies of grey of today.  Determined not to let the change of the weather dampened the mood, I found sunshine in the above photo.

Although, I have no design elements within my home that the represents the color yellow,  I was inspired by the photo above which ultimately led me to the collection below.

The photo represents a well balanced room.  The yellow wallpaper and curtains create the perfect backdrop.  The grey sofa and abstract rug anchors the space, while the oversized photography ties to the two worlds together and prevent the walls from looking too busy.  I love it!

 Bright And Playful Living Room

Opposite from the above picture, the photo below creates a warm grey setting with a punch of yellow in the window dressings and the dining room chairs.  (The chandelier is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G).

CORAL INTERIORS

Happy, Happy Thursday Everybody!!!!

Can you tell I am R-E-A-D-Y for the weekend?  No real plans other than NOT to work the 9 to 5.

I was going through some old photos that I had saved some years ago and came across a color inspiration that made me smile.  It's certainly not my go to color, but I can certainly appreciate its cool and bold effect.   As you can see, coral is a diverse color that marries well with black and white, chocolate, formal, informal, and dining spaces.

The below photo is my favorite.  The coral walls is the perfect backdrop for dark sofa and pattern mix.  PERFECTION at its best.

DESIGN CRUSH: BLACK INTERIOR DOORS!!!!

Greetings and happy, happy Tuesday to all of you.  I hope your week is progressing to be positively amazing!!!!!

Over the last several months the color "black" has graced many interiors in a bold and chic way. I started collecting photos of black interiors on Pinterest several months ago (to see my full compilation click HERE).

Inspired by the above photo I decided to search for additional interiors in which the chosen color was black.  Stimulated by the color depth added to various spaces i.e. living rooms, bedrooms, front doors, closets, bathrooms, and etc., I was mostly impressed by the level of elegance added to the spaces.

I love the how the black interior door graces the neutral color palette below.

Warm Kitchens + Cozy Living Rooms = Soulful Sundays

I hope each of you are having a splendid Sunday and your overall weekend was OUTSTANDING!

Sundays are one of my favorite days of the week.  You see in our home, Sundays are spent leisurely,  relaxing the day away with slight preparation/organization for the upcoming work/school week. We generally consume LARGE home cooked meals with multi courses that can last for a few days. I enjoy this time I am able to share with my loved ones...its like food for the soul; better yet, soul food... without the calories.

Since Sundays = Large meals in the KITCHEN + lounging in the LIVING ROOM, I decided to share some photos of my favorite kitchen and living rooms that not only inspire me but are soulful in design.

I love the overall color scheme of the first photo.  Mixing cabinetry finishes is a great way to modernize and add character to a space.

A large island is a must....especially if its a piece of furniture!!!!  I love how the white modern cabinets marry with the traditional cherry furniture.  The below look is timeless.

DINING....BANQUETTE STYLE!!!

Happy Friday's Eve!!!!!

I love the eve of Friday...one more day until weekend begins and boy let me tell you... I am ready for the weekend!!!  In the mean time I will continue to day dream about a million design spaces to include banquette seating.  Right now I have banquette dining on the brain and can't get E-N-O-U-G-H.  You see I love me some banquettes, built-in, freestanding sofa, bench, or settee, I don't care the form or fashion, but having one is a MUST.

This style of dining sets the tone for an intimate, conversational opportunity that requires the attendees to stay a while, to the point of over staying their welcome :-).  You see, it never fails in my household that when visitors come over we always find ourselves in the kitchen and around the table...drinking, eating, laughing, talking, and drinking (did I say drinking already?)

I can easily imagine family and friends gathered around the banquette for celebratory dinners, myself curled up with my favorite design magazine  and a glass of vino, weekly family and holiday meals, brunch with the girls, and everything else in between.

My current home doesn't allow for a banquette anywhere so until then I will continue to dream up my ideal setting in my mental design Rolodex.

I hope you enjoy the collection below of some of my favorite images.  Each photo offers unique design elements that appeal to various design preferences and styles.

Until the next time...be inspired.
